Hola Hola!!!!!!!
This week has been great!! We have a house with lights and water at least. Well most of the time there is water haha. But ya. Anyway, here is my week.
Lunes: We moved a bunch of our stuff to the new house out in the country and then had a few hours for some lessons and such. But nothing too special happened. It just made it difficult to not have a table or anything.
Martes: We went to the new house and started cleaning a little haha. We had tons of spiders in the house. Like hundreds, which includes lots of Rincon Spiders which are apparently way poisonous and also some tarantulas in the house haha. But after that we went to an area we aren´t too familiar with and started knocking doors. Well we don´t really knock here. You yell haha. "Aaalloooo!!" But we found some people who wanted to talk. Actually everybody here likes to talk, and sometimes they waste our time, but oh well. At least people are friendly. But then we went to a members house for New Years Eve and they were having a big party, but we had to leave a little before 11, and that's pretty much when it started, but oh well haha.
Miércoles: We had a district meeting and then we hurried home to change because we went to help Pedro and Lorena work on their house. They are building right now and don´t have a bathroom or anything. It was pretty fun! We stacked rocks for the foundation in the bathroom and then put the tub in, surrounded by rocks so it won´t rock, and then they are just going to put some boards over the rocks to finish. Its kinda eye opening to see how even the middle class live in such a humble way. Our house at home is very very nice compared to most houses here.
Jueves: We moved out of our old house and into the new one! We have water and light and everything is good. We went and taught Pedro and Lorena and they are both almost ready for baptism! We also taught Marcel, but she has problems with her boyfriend and we´re not sure if she will end up getting baptized or not. Its really hard to see stuff like that happen.
Viernes: We had exchanges with the Elders in the San Francisco ward which was fun haha. I went with Elder Otterson and he doesn´t speak a ton of spanish and we are both pretty new so it was interesting. But We prayed to be able to understand and teach. We were really blessed because we taught 4 lessons together that night and they went really well!! I have learned that if I rely on the Lord, I can speak pretty much fluently. But if I start thinking that I'm doing good, and I get a little prideful, it all goes away and I don´t get a word haha. So I guess I need to be humble.
Sábado: We had a long hot day in the sun with not much success and then we only had 20 minutes to get back to the house at night and it was like a mile and a half away and we couldn´t get a taxi, so we ran haha. We made it on time though!!!
Domingo: We had 5 investigators come to church which was great! Thats actually a lot. Pedro and Lorena had their baptismal interviews and they are ready for this Saturday!! Haha something funny. We woke up in the morning to find a cow in our yard eating the roses off our rose bushes. We really live in the country. Our yard is connected to two other yards and in between the three yards we have cats and chickens and ducks and occasionally cows. We had a chicken in our house today and we chased it around forever to try and get it out haha. It was a lot of fun. We also have bats in the attic and lots and lots of spiders. Oh and we don´t have water right now. Not sure why, but we don´t. But oh well. I´m loving life!!!!!
Chau!!!!!
Do we need to worry about bats, spiders and no water? Haha no to the bats, we are working on spiders, and we will have water soon I´m sure. Haha no worries. I just didn´t shower a couple days this week :) today included. haha
I'll bet your run on Saturday felt good, but too bad it wasn't in running shoes :) Haha it did feel good to run!! And we taught one lesson this week that I will tell you about now. I was with Elder Otterson and we were walking down the street and decided to stop in and talk to a guy who has been reading the Book of Mormon and really likes it, but isn´t interested in going to church. He hadn´t had any lessons yet, so we decided to talk to him and see what he thought about the church and everything. He had a lot of thoughts and questions about religion in general and it was really cool because the first lesson answers literally EVERY single one of the questions that he had. Like why there are so many churches that interpret the bible differently and stuff like that. I pretty much taught the lesson, and I could just see with every point in the lesson, his face lit up when we had the answers to his questions!!! That has really been the best lesson I have taught. I love the first lesson because it is so different from other religions. That the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored!!! I love it!
Oh and I felt my first earthquake the other day. There have been like 4 since I got here. And ya earthquakes are really common here. We have a volcano really close which causes them.
It looks like a few generations choosing the right!
